Welcome to the the Pacific Institute’s Water and Conflict Bibliography. The Bibliography has been a project of the Environment and Security Program of the Institute, funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York with additional support from the New Land Foundation and general fund of the Pacific Institute.

We also would like to strongly acknowledge the participation of Oregon State University's Transboundary Freshwater Dispute project under the direction of Dr. Aaron Wolf. The integration of the Pacific Institute's database with the literature compiled by OSU has greatly expanded the value of both institution's efforts.

The initial work to compile and catalogue the literature on water and conflict began at the Pacific Institute more than a decade ago and is an ongoing effort. Special thanks to Mayela Gutknecht and Heather Cooley of the Pacific Institute, who comprehensively searched the literature and set up the initial database, Lisa Gaines and Brian Blankespoor of Oregon State University, and Carter Brooks, who has helped us make this an electronic reality.
